The StandGuard is a hunter's decoy. Since the hunter can't be in the tree stand 24/7 the environment never gets accustomed to their presence. This is where the StandGuard will revolutionize your hunt. Simply place the Stand-Guard in your tree stand preseason, and leave it there all season long. This allows the environment to become comfortable with your presence in their area.
Not only does it represent your body in the stand, it also has reflective tape around the head to simulate eyes. The reflection from the tape will desensitize the area to your eyes. Those of you that wear glasses, know all too well about the glare that the Sun produces when at just the right level. The tape will also offer a reflection at those same times of day, further desensitizing the environment. The eyes aid in locating your stand in low light as well. Located inside the head of the unit is a garment hook. You have the option, not only to get them used to seeing you, but they can get used to smelling you in the stand as well.
The StandGuard is easily deployed. The hunter merely attaches the 1" webbing of the support arm around the tree above their seat, at approx. chin level. Then attaches the strap at the bottom of the torso around the seat frame or frame itself. The hook and loop at the bottom of the leg attachment can be cut to minimize the sound and simply secure it to the platform. It’s as easy as that! The Stand-Guard will remain in this configuration until the hunter is ready to use their stand.
When ready to hunt, detach the strap from the platform. Then unbuckle the 1" webbing from under the seat. Fold the legs in half and tuck them into the torso. Collapsing the entire unit upwards towards the support arm, push the arm up against the tree (rotating it on its upper elbow). Secure the unit against the tree using the seat strap. That’s it! You’re ready to hunt. Once done for the day unbuckle the seat strap from around the tree and redeploy it to it’s original configuration.
*ALWAYS* wear a safety harness while in a tree stand!!
The legs of the Stand-Guard are detachable, giving you the option not to use them. Remember it is a hunter’s decoy. That means you can even set it up on a tree at ground level to be used on turkey or coyotes if you have a favorite spot to sit during the season.
*Never* use the Stand-Guard as an enclosure! It is not made to be worn at any time or for any reason.
